In 1994, Syndel Asia was established and located in Subang, Malaysia to cater for the rapid expansion of the industry in the Asean region. As our commitment and relationship with local and regional partners grew, Syndel Asia re-located to Taman Danau Desa in Kuala Lumpur in order to be more central and accessible to our customers.
Syndel Asia has come a long way from being a local company trading in proprietary products to a skilled team of sales and technical support that provide solutions to concerns voiced by shrimp or fish farmers. We not only provide strong technical support for the products we sell but we are also eager to share and disseminate whatever knowledge we have gathered in our endeavor to help better the customer's farming practices.
Our main area of focus in the foodfish industry is the breeding of fish using our premier spawning product and biosecurity solutions for the shrimp industry. Our niche encompasses the ornamental fish industry as well with solution for disease prevention and stress free transportation and handling or aquatic animals.

Sugania VijayanGeneral Manager
Sugania Vijayan has a background in M.Sc. in reproductive biology of fish. She worked in sales as a product specialist for 2 years as she completed her masters thesis. Syndel hired her for her sales experience, her knowledge of fish reproductive biology and ability to familiarize herself with Syndel products. She joined Syndel Asia in November 2002 and took on the role of sales, marketing, admin and technical services personnel before being promoted to the Sales and Marketing Manager for Syndel Asia. She took steps to further involve herself in the aquaculture sector by monitoring current research and joining the Malaysian Fisheries Society (MFS) where she was the Editor of the MFS newsletter for 2 years. She is now the General Manager for Syndel Asia and is always looking for ways to stay one-step ahead of competition and to move the company forward.
Erin Tan Chung WeiTechnical Manager
Erin Tan studied Fish Parasitology and obtained her Masters from University of Guelph, Canada in 2005. Her knowledge of diseases of fish is an asset to Syndel Asia. Erin joined Syndel Asia in August 2005 and quickly became familiar with Syndel's available reproductive & health products. Erin has managed to build the Malaysian customer base for Syndel Asia. She is an avid fish enthusiast and experiments on her own time in breeding and larviculture of different fishes. She is active in the aquaculture industry and is a council member of the Malaysian Fisheries Society (MFS) and has been the editor of the newsletter, Fishmail, for the past 4 years. Erin now holds the position of Technical Services Manager and is key in advising our customers on fish health management and using our products effectively to provide the desired results.
Karunanithi a/l MuthusamyConsultant Technical Support
Karunanithi or Karu for short, graduated from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, India. He has 20 years working experience in shrimp farms and had developed an excellent reputation as a succesfull producer of tiger shrimps in Malaysia. Karu began work with the Lion Group as an aquaculturist in 1987 and ended his shrimp farming stint by managing a pilot project for tiger shrimp farming in Melaka whereby his success was highlighted in THE STAR on 13th August 2007. From thereon, Karu was well sought after by private companies such as Epicore Bionetworks Co. where he worked for 2 years, to service the shrimp industry. In October 2009, Karu joined the Syndel Asia team as a Consultant Technical Support where he assists Syndel Asia sales staff on dealing with technical issues related to shrimp farming. Karu has proved to be a valuable asset to Syndel Asia in terms of his knowledge, network, drive and dedication to promote and improve the sales for Syndel Asia.
Nur Suzana binti AbdullahOffice Administrator
Julie has been in the customer service industry for over ten years with extensive experience in office administration. Julie joined the Syndel Asia team in 2008 and brought along with her excellent management and organizational skills. She competently re-vamped the existing office management structure to reflect our expanding business and runs the office efficiently. She handles customer and office accounts and is the core that provides crucial in-house support to the field personnel. Her proficiency in all the three main Malaysian languages helps our customers feel at ease when communicating with her as well.
Sitti Patma Binti HassilAssistant Office Administrator
Sitti joined Syndel Asia in 2009 and is in charge of the inventory, warehousing and handling of customer enquiries. Her previous experience working in the lab of a shrimp farm is an asset to the company as we enter the shrimp market with a new range of innovative products in 2009. Using her knowledge in the shrimp industry, she provides vital in house support to the sales team. She now also handles customer calls on all products distributed by Syndel Asia for both the shrimp and fish market.
